Services provided:
The Citizens Advice Scotland Kinship Care Service is made up of two National Co-ordinators who look after the day-to-day running of the service, four Regional Officers, based in Aberdeen, Airdrie, Penicuik and Dumfries, and a Kinship Care Helpline provided by Citizens Advice Direct.
The Regional Officers support Citizens Advice Bureaux to offer up to date advice to kinship carers and also offer support and training services to local authority staff and to other agencies whose services are used by kinship carers. This means that these organisations are kept informed of the circumstances faced by people who are looking after the children of relatives or friends.
