Location:

SOEC has 3 residential outdoor education centres each situated in rural surroundings within easy travelling distance of the major towns and cities in Scotland.

Type of accommodation:

Belmont Centre, Meigle, Perthshire, PH12 8TG.
This centre offers residential accommodation for up to 48 young people and 4 adults in 4 dormitory buildings. There is a multi-purpose hall for up to 200, dining room, leader lounge and six tutorial rooms. There is an extensive outdoor games area suitable for fields sports. (See separate entry for Belmont Centre).  Catering is provided.

Broomlee Centre, West Linton, Scottish Borders, EH46 7BU.

This centre offers residential accommodation for up to 122 young people and 9 leaders in 4 dormitory buildings. There is a small multi-purpose hall for up to 60 approx, dining room, leader lounge, five tutorial rooms. There are facilities for recreation and outdoor activities. (See separate entry for Broomlee Centre).  Catering is provided.

Dounans Centre, Aberfoyle, Stirling, FK8 3UT.
This centre offers residential accommodation for up to 144 young persons and 12 leaders in 12 chalets. There is a multi-purpose hall seating up to 200, dining room, lounge, seven tutorial rooms. There are facilities for recreation and outdoor activities.  Catering is provided.

Access and facilities – within and around establishment:

The Centre are  suitable for participants with reasonable mobility.  Group leaders are strongly encouraged to view the facilities in advance of a visit to ensure the centre chosen will meet the needs of the group. Qualified tutors can provide outdoor activities.

Additional information:

The centres are large, accommodating from 10 to 100 plus persons at any one time.
