Play Scotland is the National organisation for Play in Scotland.  Working to promote and deliver the importance of play for all children and young people in Scotland.

  • To increase awareness of the importance of play to the development of children and young people in Scotland
  • To ensure that all children and young people in Scotland have equal access to diverse and quality play opportunities that meet their individual need.

Priorities for Play Scotland include:

  • Lobbying and responding to Scottish Government consultations
  • Website with up to date information on play and playwork
  • Annual conference
  • Research into play and play provision
  • Training on: Getting it Right for Play, The Play Map, Scotland’s Play Strategy, Risk and much more
  • Training Scottish Play Certificate on Play
    Information to Parents and Families on Play
    Community Play Development
    UK Playday, Play on the Longest Day & Play on the Shortest Day
    Promote Scotland’s Play CharterCreative & Messy Play booklets, resources for families and Playwork settings
