Disabled person's organisation of people with learning disabilities

Aims:

  • To achieve the same human rights for people with learning disabilities that other citizens expect
  • To inform and persuade people who do not have learning disabilities to recognise the rights and needs of people with learning disabilities
  • To represent the interests of the membership and influence law and policy which impacts on people with learning disabilities.

Services provided:

  • Promotion and development of self-advocacy and collective advocacy of people with learning disabilities
  • Support and training so that people with learning difficulties can be involved in  services, policy and planning
  • Conferences to promote the rights and needs of people with learning difficulties
  • Provision of information.
