Maintaining high standards in occupational pensions schemes

**workplace pensions law has changed. every employer has new legal duties to help their workers in the uk save for retirement. they must automatically enrol certain workers into a qualifying workplace pension scheme and make contributions towards it.

Services provided:

The principal objectives of the Pensions Regulator are to protect the benefits of members of work-based pension schemes and to make sure that schemes are run well.

To achieve these objectives, they need to work with a wide range of people in the pensions community, including employers, trustees, administrators, managers, providers, advisers and scheme members.

They provide assistance and guidance to employers, and will work with an individual should problems arise.
The regulator is able to issue improvement notices and third party notices, disqualify trustees deemed unfit to carry out their duties, and freeze a scheme at risk while it investigates. The Pensions Regulator is committed to supporting pension scheme trustees in their continuing professional development and has a developed a free e-learning programme which can be access at www.trusteetoolkit.com
