Provide music therapy services for children and adults in Scotland

Aims:

To provide music therapy services and raise awareness of the benefits of music therapy, for people of all ages living with a range of health conditions, disabilities, and illnesses across Scotland.

Services provided:

The charity’s music therapy team works from four bases in Broxburn (West Lothian) Crosshill (Fife), Cardonald (Glasgow) and Dundee (Angus), with additional work in Stirling. The work carried out is largely done on an outreach basis in schools, hospitals, hospices, residential health care settings and community / voluntary sector projects. Private referrals are also undertaken in the workrooms at their bases listed above.   Geographically, their outreach work takes place in the Lothians, Fife, Greater Glasgow, Stirling, Perth and Kinross Angus, Lanarkshire and Aberdeen.

Nordoff Robbins Scotland operate an open referrals system and accept referrals from health care / educational professionals, parents, carers as well as self-referrals.

In addition to clinical work, Nordoff Robbins Scotland offer bespoke tailored presentations / training in music therapy to professionals, agencies, carers and other interested parties.

Volunteering opportunities are available with Nordoff Robbins Scotland as they are often looking for administrative help, or at their fundraising events.
