Monitoring the occurence of CJD throughout the UK

Aims:

  • To monitor Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease in order to identify any change in the pattern of the disease that might be attributable to the emergence of Bovine Spongiform Encephaloapthy
  • To identify all cases of any form of CJD and to study the clinical features of these illnesses.

  • Research projects
  • Help and advice
  • Providing practical information about Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease
  • Administering the National Care Package of CJD.
