Look Good, Feel Better (LGFB)
Hold free of charge skincare and make-up workshops for women & teenagers living with cancer to help combat the visible side effects of treatment
LGFB hold free skin care and make-up workshops to help combat the visible side effects of cancer treatment and, in turn, boost confidence and wellbeing in women.
The sessions are run weekly, fortnightly or monthly for up to twelve people. They are held in over seventy-five locations throughout the UK, in hospitals and cancer care centres. The Look Good Feel Better Programme is also available in twenty-six countries worldwide.
At the beginning of each workshop, patients are given a gift bag filled with different products donated by major companies throughout the beauty industry. Three volunteer beauty consultants take everyone through a specially designed twelve-step skin care and make-up regime. At the end of two hours of learning, fun and laughter ladies leave feeling relaxed and full of renewed confidence in their appearance. They are then free to enjoy the product gift bag or 'cosmetic tool kit' at home.
LGFB also offers a self-help DVD and booklet, the LGFB Confidence Kit. It not only covers skincare and make-up advice, but has sections on a wig selection and cutting, head scarves and nail care.
Workshops are held in many of the Maggie Centres including Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Kirkcaldy.
