Self help group for lesbian and bisexual disabled and able bodied women

Aims:

To lessen the isolation of disabled and non-disabled lesbian and bisexual women of eighteen years of age and over.

Services provided:

  • Friendship network of penpals via tape, phone, email and braille-friends (GEMMA stresses that it is not a dating agency)
  • Seeks to increase awareness of the social needs of disabled lesbian and bisexual women in their own communities and in society in general
  • Collects and continually updates information on issues around sexuality and disability and wages a constant battle for accessible premises and literature
  • Anthologies of writing by members.

Membership:

Yearly subscription is £2.50 – £7.50 according to income.

Publications:

Quarterly Newsletter GEMMA available in print, tape, braille and large print, or email on request.
