Promoting equality for Scotland's many communities, particularly black and minority ethnic older people

Services provided:

Summary: Promoting Equality, Respecting Diversity and Embedding Inclusion

Trust is a national housing, support and care provider, offering a range of accommodation and support services. We primarily serve older people but we also provide housing for families and individuals. Trust has over 2,500 households across the length and breadth of Scotland.
We offer a range of services, from a landlord only service to care and support services that are tailored to the needs of the individual. This means our customers can continue to live independently and enjoy a good quality of life, even as they become older and frailer.
Our mission is not just to provide homes and services but to help create and support inclusive communities where people from all backgrounds can enjoy life, participate fully and be treated with respect.
We serve many different communities and individuals and in every engagement – whether with customers, staff, potential staff, or partners – we do our utmost to uphold our principles of promoting equality, respecting diversity and embedding inclusion.
Trust was the first housing association in Scotland to achieve Investors in Diversity accreditation and subsequently Leaders in Diversity accreditation.
We were also recently awarded Investors in People (IIP) Gold accreditation – only 7% of UK organisations have attained this highest level. IIP recognised Trust’s high quality training and development programmes and the way we recruit, encourage and support our employees.
