Provider of legal advice for people with disabilities

AIMS:

To help people with disabilities and their families to obtain information about their legal entitlements.

SERVICES PROVIDED:

The Disability Law Service (DLS) is a free, confidential legal advice and casework service for disabled people, their enablers, carers and families.

  • Provide legal advice through an advice line
  • Representation: where appropriate Disability Law Service solicitors will intervene to represent a disabled person
  • Will initiate legal proceedings where appropriate
  • Can offer advice on local authority provisions, community care, further and higher education, employment, discrimination and consumer / contract.


MEMBERSHIP COSTS:

All services are free.

OPENING HOURS:

Contacting DLS generally, Monday - Friday, 10.00am - 5.00pm
The Advice Line can be accessed Monday - Friday, 10.00am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 5.00pm.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This is a national organisation, although specific Scottish law is not covered.
