Gosh, it’s been a while since our last newsletter update and it’s certainly been a busy time. We were delighted to receive funding from the Scottish Government Equality Unit for 2018/19 which has allowed us to deliver our information services for another year.

We said our goodbye’s to Hannah and Cathy as they ventured off to pastures new and we welcomed Carol who worked with us on a temporary basis on our helpline until we secured two new members of staff.  You can read about Irene and Ann who joined us in June.

As well as supporting the helpline, Carol helped with the preparatory work that would allow us to apply later in the year for level 1 accreditation on the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers.

After a long time searching we are really pleased to have chosen a preferred supplier for our new client management system. Working with Social Enterprise Direct, we are looking to implement a tailored version of Salesforce which will meet the needs of our staff and funders and importantly supporting the requirements of the users of our service. The build is currently under way and we look forward to delivery and user acceptance testing.

With the summer months upon us we are feeling optimistic and looking forward with our team at full strength and motivated to continue the fantastic work of Disability Information Scotland.
