Consultation on timescales for carers of those with terminal illness
The Carers Act, which came into force in Scotland in April of 2018, requires Scottish Ministers to set timescales for preparing adult carer support plans and young carer statements for carers of people who are terminally ill, with a life expectancy of up to 6 months. The Scottish Government is now consulting on these timescales to help inform regulations that set prioritised time limits for the preparation of adult carer support plans and young carer statements for carers of people who are terminally ill.
The consultation is open until 12 April 2019 and more information can be found here.
Changing Places Toilets: Building Standards Consultation
Changing Places Toilets offer larger, supported facilities that address the needs of people for whom current accessible sanitary accommodation is inadequate. These facilities enable people with complex care needs to take part in everyday activities such as travel, shopping, family days out or attending a sporting event.
The proposal is to require these larger sanitary facilities, through building standards, in certain types of larger new buildings.
The consultation is open until 13th May 2019 and more information can be found here
