Here is a quick overview of current funding schemes which could help you save money and be warmer at home:
Warmer Homes Scotland is the Scottish Government’s national funding scheme to support people who may be vulnerable to fuel poverty. It is designed to help people make their homes warmer by supporting the installation of a range of energy saving measures such as a new central heating system or insulation. The scheme offers assistance to homeowners and private sector tenants who have lived in their property for at least six months and who meet the qualifying criteria.
These are geographically based schemes aimed at supporting householders with energy efficiency measures such as external wall insulation. These are run by local authorities and can benefit both social tenants and private owners.
Interest-free loans of up to £15,000 are available for installing a variety of measures such as boiler controls, double glazing, insulated doors or flat roof insulation.
This scheme provides free or subsidised insulation and heating improvements for low income and vulnerable private householders.
